Birthday Present...

hey everyone i posted this yesterday in a few places and they suggested i post here!

"Hey All Saucy Crafty Peeps -
my birthday is in 36 days and I know i want a sewing machine
but i am not sure what to get because i haven't ever had my own
sewing machine - i want to be able to make home accessories, as well
as clothing accessories, clothing and everything in between -
what price range should i shoot for? how many stitches? what brands are good?
I like the machine they have on "while you are out" that embroiders pretty letters and names with the touch of a button - what do you have? what do you wish you had? what do you wish you had known when you bought yours?
and how do you suggest i use to learn it????
