prom scrapbook ..
Aug. 12th, 2003 08:30 pm(x-posted to my my journal, handmadebooks, & craftgrrl)
Four months ago (April 12), I went to my senior prom. After taking numerous "getting ready for.." and "during.." pictures and whatnot, as well as saving the invitation and driving directions (because, you know, violating seveteen traffic laws while trying to find a parking lot in San Francisco is ALWAYS a memorable thing), I decided to go ahead and make a separate scrapbook just to remember the occasion, instead of keeping the photos in a box and the other saved items in my (huge, overflowing, barely-can-close) scrapbook of high school memories. I figured also, since I was learning how to bind books, I'd go ahead and have a go at it myself.
So, after putting it off for four months, here is the final product! :) Yayyyy..

the front cover

japanese stab-binding (bound with the lace I wore as my "bracelets" during prom)

first page

cover page with pink transparent paper over it

& without the paper over it; has the school name, date, and prom theme (a night at the oscars; hence the red carpet)

random page to show i used envelopes to hold random papers such as driving directions and cost of pictures

random page with photos of the corsage & boutonniere

random page from me getting ready
The cover was made out of a pink (with white swirls) gift bag that I cut out to lay flat.. (3M spray glue is the best glue ever, btw).. You can see fold marks, lol, but I don't really mind. Random pages were shown just to show the basic layout. Although each page is different.. I used mainly three different scrapbook papers -- pink with roses, plain pink, and some other pink with a white intricate semi-victorian style design. I either bordered them around photos or used strips going either horizontally or vertically and such.. overall, looked good :D
