Miss Martini
Aug. 19th, 2003 08:47 pmHey girls. I've mostly been up to no good, but I finally got in a bit of crafting time for a fun 21st birthday present for a good friend of mine. Here are some pictures: [x-posted to my journal]
This is the finished product.

The top.

The bottom.

The inside.

The good stuff.
Basically, I just bought a plain paper mache hat box from Michael's and painted it green with acrylic paint. I decoupaged the ribbon on and the photocopied image of the girl holding the martini on the top. I sealed it all with an all-purpose sealer afterward. The stamp inside is just a rubber stamp and the bottom is another decoupaged image. I painted the words very carefully (ha) and it took FOREVER!
I was a little disappointed that I couldn't find any small bottles of vermouth so I bought a large one, found a little bottle at a cooking store and made my own label with my printer and my sticker making machine.
It was a very fun project and when I gave it to her this evening, she loved it. I didn't realize until after I'd done it that I forgot the olives, though. Sucky. Oh, and those little things in front are wine glass charms that I also made... out of the hoop earrings, glass beads, and little dragonfly charms. :)
