Fun with spray paint and glue!
Aug. 20th, 2003 05:47 pm*Sorry I can't post a pic...*
I've been re-vamping some furniture I have, that I've gotten from various thrift stores over the past few years, but, one two-tier stand in particular, was being stubborn: I tried to paint it the same colour as a book shelf, but, it the paint started to bubble in several spots..and, naturally, since I got the spary paint at a dollar store, I couldn't find another can of the same stuff....so, I was going to throw it away...then, inspiration struck:
I sanded the shelves REALLY good, and re-sprayed them with some Krylon, in a pretty shad of peach I found, then I had printed out various prints of vintage adertisements for chocolate and booze, and cute 'frames' for them out of some robin's egg blue shelf lining paper, and decoupaged them on- 5 on the top, and 5 on the bottom...then finished it off with some spray sealer.
Must say it looks better than I had hoped, and I don't have to go shopping for new furniture now! *Yah!!*
