[livejournal.com profile] eophenia mentioned that she liked my bedspread on my first post and I told her that I had the warm colors version at school and that I would have take pictures. Well, after doing homework for two hours on a Saturday I decided to take a break and show all the color coordinated goodness that is my room.

Here's my bedspread and the nightstand that I painted and the magazine rank my mom painted.

Here are some closer views of the nightstand. I traced the bottoms of nail polish bottles because we didn't have any circle stencils. The night stand was already white. We've had it since I was four-years-old. It used to hold my brother's Nintendo games.

Magazine rack, done with star sponges.

This chest of drawers needed repainted really bad, but we were lazy and didn't do it. But I did paint the knobs. Since there were only four colors on my bedspread, I wanted to buy star knobs for the top drawer, but I couldn't find any at Lowe's. Instead, I bought some silver twirly knobs.

My mom made me a valance out of two pillowcases from Wal-Mart to match my stuff.

Remember this fabric?

And to end it, here are all of the Shrinky Dinks I made last night... When I should have been getting homework out of the way. Oh well!

The monkey is Monkichi by Sanrio. One of Hello Kitty's friends. I never find anything with him on it, so I had to make my own. Also, the pink and black striped is a background that I had saved on my computer that I printed onto the Shrinky Dink plastic. They make some specifically for printers, but I wanted to see if the regular kind would work. It worked pretty well. The black ink did great, but the pink smeared a little. Since I cut that off, it didn't really matter. Even after I put it in the over, some of the pink ink still came off on my fingers. And finally, the one that looks black is purple with light blue. I colored it with Sharpies and I went over the purple twice and it made it darker than I would have liked. But at least I learned my lesson.
