Aug. 23rd, 2003 09:46 pmI was watching television in the other room, I wasn't trying to be posh
A detail of the pink zipper and eye hooks I installed (which are a little off-centre but whatever!)
I made a skirt from scratch using a recycled bedsheet (you might recognize the fabric from the headbands I was selling a few months back). Using a skirt I bought at Value Village for a guide, I cut four triangular panels and sewed them together to form a slight A-line and very comfortable look. I'm really surprised it turned out as well as it did.
The seams are unfinished because I've yet to splurge on a serger but I'm the only one who sees the insides anyway so I'm not that concerned. I'm so happy with how this turned out that I'm going to try to make more.
Oh, and the alternating flow of the tree pattern (one panel rightside up and the other panel upside down) was completely accidental. I didn't even notice it until I had the skirt finished. Talk about happy accidents!
