cool use for old CD's

craftgrrlSo I was at a local CD shop this past weekend and saw the coolest thing hanging on the ceiling- a CD disco ball!
They took what was probably a styrofoam ball (but any sphere would work), and glued a bunch of broken CD pieces to it (writing side-in). This made for a spiffy CD disco ball! Has anybody ever tried this or seen it done? It seems like a neat way to use old CD's (or AOL cd's...). I would think that a hot glue gun would work for attaching the CD's to the ball.
