jiggly table

Okay, I've got this awful round pedestal table which is the place where I generally sew. The only problem is I can go only so fast otherwise everything jiggles off... I've tried the coffee table (it has four legs) but same problem.

Other than the floor, where does everyone use their machine? Or maybe I've just a really angry sewing machine. It's a two year old White brand behemoth (named Ethel). It's mostly metal, and has a *very* forceful uppy-downy movement.

Any suggestions?
