Jul. 7th, 2002 10:18 pmI made some necklace charms out of dominoes today! Very inexpensive. I used cheap acrylic paints, a mod-podge type glue for sealant, random papers, and wire or a large jump ring for the top. The only thing I didn't already have was a drill- I borrowed one from my dad, and drilling a hole toward the top went more smoothly that I anticipated.
I bought a box of 50 used wooden dominoes at a thrift store the other day for 99 cents- was very excited at the concept of getting one domino for 2 cents. First I drilled the hole, then used white and silver and gold acrylic paint to coat the domino. Next I glued a mini-collage of papers on the front, then coated with the sealant (which I hope works well enough to prevent chipping or scrapes in the paint).
