Hey y’all-

Does anyone know where I can get hat pin blanks? or just really long sharp things? I have the beads. The pins available commercially aren’t strong, and I need the hat pins to go thru a bunch of layers of material.

Suggestions??

This is kind of two questions in one. One of my best friends turned 16 on June 25th and I never thought to get him a present because I was writing him a book. This is more computer related, but I've heard you can print on both sides of the paper, without having to print one page, turn it over, put the paper back in the printer, and print the next page. Does anyone know how to do that?

Then I thought that I really should get him a present that I could give him for his birthday. Obviously, it's way past his birthday and I feel really bad since he wouldn't tell me what he wanted. So I'm thinking and then decide that I can make him something. This doesn't seem like it would be a meaningful present, but it's an inside joke so it really is. I was hoping that I could figure out 52 ways to decorate the backs of 52 (there are 52 cards in a deck right?) cards. I have a few ideas, but that's it. Maybe someone has done something like this before and can help?

I made some necklace charms out of dominoes today! Very inexpensive. I used cheap acrylic paints, a mod-podge type glue for sealant, random papers, and wire or a large jump ring for the top. The only thing I didn't already have was a drill- I borrowed one from my dad, and drilling a hole toward the top went more smoothly that I anticipated.

I bought a box of 50 used wooden dominoes at a thrift store the other day for 99 cents- was very excited at the concept of getting one domino for 2 cents. First I drilled the hole, then used white and silver and gold acrylic paint to coat the domino. Next I glued a mini-collage of papers on the front, then coated with the sealant (which I hope works well enough to prevent chipping or scrapes in the paint).
