Knitting question on cuffs

I am just learning to knit, and I was trying to find a pattern or something to make a more stretchy cuff like you find at the end of a sweater cuff. I am not sure what it's called so my google searches are turning up some odd stuff that isn't helping. Any help you can give me would be really appreciated. If that doesn't make sense, tell me and I will try to clarify. Bonus points for online tutorials!
