Hand-rolled soap
Sep. 15th, 2003 03:03 pmI saw the neatest thing this weekend while out and about... Rolled Soap! I thought it was so pretty. I think it could be done with M&P or milled soap. I think I have it down on how to make it.
Lay out some wax paper and place flower petals, herbs, etc on the sheet. Melt your soap base and color as desired (looks cool with clear base) let the soap start to re-thicken, and when it is still pourable, yet getting stiff, pour over the herbs, etc in a roughly rectangle shape(about 1/8in thick).
Once the soap is solid and still flexible, flip the wax paper over on to another sheet (so the soap is between two sheets of wax paper) and peel off the top sheet. Roll the soap swiss cake roll style. Let cool fully.
Putting a bundle of them together standing in a glass, or fanned in a basket looks neat. Kind of like cinnamon sticks!
