Hi! I'm new, sort of. I used to belong to this comm last year, but that was at the height of the marble magnet drma and I got annoyed and left. I recently organized all my crafty stuff, and it inspired me to make a couple things. First, I made ten million sponge balls.



Yes, I admit, I got the idea from Martha Stewart, but they are insanely cute and my little girl loves them. The sponges are only $1-$.50 for twelve, so I kind of freaked out and made lots, and I have even more than are pictured, even though I have given quite a few away. I decided to give the pink/purple/yellow/turquoise one (in the upper left-hand corner) to my daughter's friend Jazz for her birthday with a bunch of bath stuff, and to round it out I made her this as well:



I bought the pink towel at the dollar store (oh how I love dollar stores!) and embroidered her name on it in yellow. This is the first thing I have embroidered since my inability to perfect french knots at the age of ten caused me to give up. I think it turned out pretty cute, and it gave me some good ideas for other projects, as well as easier ways to do it than I did here!

After making stuff for someone else's kid, I thought I should make something for my own, so I got these awesome star shaped iridescent glass marbles and made magnets out of them. They are green, dark blue, light blue and clear. My daughter is obsessed with fridge magnets, but all of ours were really small and I was worried about her choking on them (she's 23 months old), so I thought some bigger ones of her very own would be nice. I was right, she likes them so much that they are scattered around the house, magnetted to every metal thing she can find!
