(crossposted to
crochet)
I finally got around to scanning the pattern for the celtic knotwork afghan I'm doing.
For anyone interested, the link is http://www.angelfire.com/celeb/huntress/Knot1.jpg
And because it's angelfire, if you try to click through you're probably going to get a generic angelfire picture. You should probably copy and paste the url :)
As you can see, I've adapted it from a cross stitch pattern. My granny squares are about 2 1/2 inches by 2 1/2 inches (a chain and two rows.) and solid in color, but my colors aren't green, blue, dark blue and cream, they're black and purple and blue and cream.
Mine is going to be ReallyVeryBig, and I'm only doing the knot and maybe the cream w/trim diamond around it; if you want to use the pattern, just remember that it's going to be a *lot* larger than it looks like it's going to be. You can borrow the book by Sandra Whitehead "Celtic, Medieval and Tudor Wall Hangings in 1/2 Scale Needlepoint". It's the first pattern in the book. You can also adapt other patterns, or bits of other patterns, and they should have other Celtic pattern books if you're interested in that sort of thing :)
I'll post pictures when I'm done piecing together :) (I've started and it's looking great, so far :)
If you have any questions, just ask :)
