Bag corners? Help!
Oct. 16th, 2003 11:55 amOk, so I'm having an issue with a bag I'm making. It's a tote bag pattern from Simplicity, and it makes a large tote with bamboo handles. I found a similar bag online and there's a picture behind the cut.

Right now I'm at the part where I have the bag sewn together, but haven't turned the corners out yet, because I can't figure out how to do it. The sides of the bag and the bottom are the same width, and each edge has been sewn 1/8th away from the edge to create a tuck. Also, the sides and the bottm tend to fold in because of the seams in the middle. The instructions say to bring the side seams and the bottom seams together, and then sew across the triangle that is created to make a neat corner. I can't for the life of me figure it out. My digital camera is out on loan or else I'd take pictures of the exact problem, but if I don't figure it out soon I'm going to go crazy. Any hints?
