pattern size question

craftgrrlHave any of you ever made baby clothes using an existing article of clothing as a pattern? I have a pair of pants and a shirt that my little girl has grown out of and are very basic in shape so i figure i can just make copies that are a little bigger. The design of them are perfect for customizing and i have some cute ideas.
My question is: The existing clothes are 0-3 month size and i'd like to make them to fit around 9 month size. Is there a certain percentage that i increase the pattern by?
I've never done this before andthought i could figure it out but am having some dificulty.
