Ok, I could use a little advice here.

I've been reading this book called 'Making Journals By Hand' (it's pretty interesting and has a lot of really beautiful examples in it) and it refers to a technique that requires a 'blender pen' that contains xylene.

Sooo... I cannot seem to find a blender pen or even just xylene anywhere. Any advice on where a good place might be to get one?

I would really appreciate any help.

Thanks!

i really want to have a Naked Lady Party with all of my extra clothes, but i don't have any friends who would care about that kind of thing, so instead i thought i would post instructions on how to have you rOWN Naked Lady Party. hopefully i can live vicariously through you.

Naked Lady Party.
get all of your girlfriends together and have them bring ANYTHING they don't like to wear, doesn't fit them, mom gave it to them and they hate it, whatever it is.

pile all of these clothes in a big pile and sit in a circle around them.

each girl gets to pick out something they think they like and try it on in front of everyone. get comments, see if any body else wants it more, stuff like that.

when there's nothing but unwearable stuff left over, go around and do the same thing, but keep fabric/project ideas in mind!!!

when there's still stuff left, figure out what you can donate to the goodwill, and what you have to throw away. if you are trying to help people DONT GO TO VALUE VILLIAGE because they are owned my wal-mart and they do NOT give most of thier profits to charity, even thought hey get all of thier clothes for free.

just thought i'd post. :)

Tonight after a LAN party, my husband was getting ready to throw out some networking cable because something about it wasn't working, and I thought it might have some potential as craft materials.

I obviously underestimated its potential.

Inside each ugly grey network cable cover is four pairs of coated copper wires. Copper wire is nice to work with on its own but the covers are gorgeous. Each pair is twisted together, one of the pair is solid colour and the other is white with a thin tracing of the accent colour spiraling around it, and they come in blue, green, orange and brown. I figure it wouldn't take much to add some pretty beads, or to make pins or earrings out of the stuff. Maybe even braid together or weave some together.

Lovely stuff. :) Keep it in mind if an office renovates, or if you know of a computer services division in a building which might be willing to let you dispose of their nonfunctional cables... :)

Helllooooooooo ladies! I have a predicament. My dad got me these "giant gems" today. (I dunno why...he just did) Anyways, I wanna do something with them but I can't think of anything! They're like those half marble thingys, and they're silvery and kinda colorful...metallic, sorta like an oil spill or something like that. Oh and they're about the size of if you put your thumb and index finger together to make a circle. (grr I wish my digital camera worked! hehe) Anyone have an idea on what I could do??

My friend told me about this stuff that you mix with acrylic paint to make the paint sheer. Does anyone know what this stuff is called? How well does it work?
