I have this awesome source for silver beads, but I don't have anything to string them on. I don't want to use something like thread/fishing wire/stretch cord - ideally a fine silver chain would do, but where in the heck would I get something like that? Does anyone know of a supplier that would sell something silver to string silver beads on?

Thanks for your help!

hi. i just came across a ton of old skool sassy magazines. i have reminisced for days reading them but now want to pass on the fun to some other people via trade. i am really trying to build up a rubber stamp collection, so if you'd be interested in trading some cool rubber stamp(s) for an issue, let me know. btw, the issues i am willing to trade are: jan '94 (sassiest girl in america, entertainment poll...), dec '93 (dork celeb jamboree, little girl clothes, reader-produced-issue...), april '94 (evan dando, start your own band, etc...), may '94 (ashley hamilton, bathing suits, hair coloring, crushes...), june '94 (andrew shue, behind the scenes at a fashion shoot...), sept. '94 (how to flirt, gameshow audition, L7, 80's vintage-look clothes), nov. '94 (rude boy fashions, beck, dealing with colleges, school bites, etc...), mar. '94 (ben stiller, jail for girls, prom dresses...), july 94 (A Tribe Called Quest, surfboarding, credit card abusers, struggling models..),
oct 94 (girls with bad reputations, models inc., girl cop, family embarrassment).

thanks again for the help. here's my quilt square.

us procrastinators got a tiny reprieve from my friend's sister, so now i'm deciding if i want to add some beading around the heart or not. i used versatex printing inks and a couple of different brushes. the fabric is cut from an old pair of paints, which only proved difficult because the grain of the fabric is diagonal. i liked the paints though. i heat set with an iron according to their web site's instructions (www.versatex.net).

I had 2 pairs of old jeans- nicely faded, but a bit too short and tapered. I was going to make a miniskirt out of one pair but I accidentally cut it off too short, so I decided to make it the yoke of a long skirt. I cut it about 2 inches below the zipper, and used the legs of both pairs to make panels for the long, gored part of the skirt. There are six panels in all, roughly triangular so they flare out towards the bottom. I sewed all the seams facing out and left it unhemmed so it has a rough, fringe-y look. I wish I had a camera to show everyone! It is so unbelievably cute. I can probably draw the pattern out and e-mail it to anyone who is interested, my e-mail is on my profile.
:D
