My hubby posted this in his journal, and I knew that there were some boys here who might appreciate this.
Even if you aren't a car buff, the workk this guy put into his creation is amazing.

(his link should open up RealPlayer and give a video)

Hi ladies! (and guys too!)

Can anyone recommend some good sites for vintage pictures and photos? I'm mostly looking for turn of the century, 1920's, and 1930's. I fear I have tapped out all of the resources I usually use.
Any suggestions will be very appreciated!!
Thanks!!!

i collaged an envelope for my sister in university. i used pictures that were in an english text book from the 60s i found in a recycle bin.
now, i keep my eyes open for more retro-ish texts because they make great collages.

anyone know if there is a way to convert a knitting pattern to crochet. Obviously I don't know how to knit, but have a pattern I'd like to do in crochet...

thanks

I want to make a pom-pom thing to go on top of a beanie. My friend bought this hat and it looks like it should have a thing on the top of it but it doesnt, so i was thinking that I might just make one for him. I haven't seen anywhere about how to make one but it should be pretty easy if I can get a few little instructions. What do you guys think would be the easiest way to do it?

Last year i picked up a ton of old 45's from a giant lifeline booksale. dad and i just discovered that the record player we thought had died actually still works perfectly!

only problem is, none of the records came with cases. i originally had them up on my wall for decoration but i want to listen to them now and keep them out of harms way.

so, my question is, any ideas on making a book-sorta-thing for them, kind of like those cd books you can flip the pages, but for 45 records? how would i go about making something like that and what materials would i use?

I'm trying to dye some white alpaca yarn that I bought and I was wondering what kind of dye would be best to use. RIT seems kind of cheap for such a nice fiber. Any suggestions you ladies and gents might have would be great. Thanks!

I made another clock from a game..but unlike my stratego clock, this is not a board game. I am quite hooked on making clocks out of games, though. It's just my current clock phase I suppose. :)
