Hello all. I've been watching this wonderful community for a while now and I must say that I have been inspired by all the creativity I have seen here. I love making crafts, no matter what size or shape. I just like making things.

I got some beautiful orchids tonight at a Japanese restaurant. They're so pretty that I'd really like to try and find a way to preserve them. My aunt presses flowers and puts them in picture frames to give as gifts, but I'm not sure how she does it, and she recently moved. That and the flowers she pressed were always local wildflowers.

Orchids are so delicate, I'm not quite sure how to go about doing it. I plan to try looking around online to see if I can find anything, but I would greatly appreciate it if anyone has any suggestions or knows any helpful websites that they could direct me to.

Thanks again ahead of time, and keep the creativity flowing!

Shameless plug for my site... but HEY! If I don't plug my site, who will?

I just wanted to let everyone know that I'm now offering a few things for sale through my site - homemade candles, corn bags, and handpainted decorator's tables. I'll be adding lots of things as time goes on, but I wanted to get the word out in hopes of generating a little traffic.

Feel free to explore all of my pages - my main page is at http://www.skwairpeg.com. Even if you aren't interested in spending money, I love having visitors and welcome feedback!

OH! I'm offering FREE shipping within the continental US, for the next little while...

I just got my Bath fizzie (butter my bath) and my bar of oatmeal butter cream soap from Clean Habit Soaps.

I just put in my order on Sunday and I already have it!! The Butter my Bath bath fizzie smells WONDERFUL!!! *keeps sniffing the bath fizzie*

I know that the creator of Clean Habit is in this community, but I can't remember her LJ name.

Any way, I just want to say I am very pleased with the products!

Hi

I was wondering if anyone could tell me the name of the fabric used to mainly make suits out of..? I'm desperate for a lime-ish green suit and failing that, a purple cord suit but I don't know of anywhere that sells either fabrics. (The nearest i can get is navy blue cord which would make me look like i got crafty with one of my grandma's curtains), so i'm trying ebay and with 1101 listings for "green fabric" i was wondering if you could be any help on how to narrow it down a little?!

Thanks!

So here's my first post:
I rescued some mugs from work a little while ago, and I haven't had much use for them until recently now that I'm moving. My apartment is very devoid of everything and I'm using all the kitchen-ware I have.
Here's the catch: These mugs have a "4th of July" theme and they're REALLY an eyesore! I want to paint over them with something a little more "me" but I don't know if I can and still be able to drink out of them. They're already glazed, so I don't know if it's possible to glaze over that and re-fire it, or if it's better to just paint on the outside.

Can someone with more experience with ceramics maybe give some advice? Thanks.
