I hope I don't get in trouble for advertising my ebay auctions, but if I wasn't so poor I wouldn't be resorting to this. Anyone that knows me could tell you that my fabric stash is my most prized possession. But alas, I must pay the bills. Right now most of what I have listed are Hawaiian, Tropical, and Batik prints and maybe one knit. All really good quality fabric. Plenty more on the way as soon as I take some more pictures.

so if you are looking to buy fabric go here!

hi, kids! i'm a long-time lurker who is currently obsessed with FELT! i bought a ton of it at michael's the other day and have been making patches ever since. here's a picture of one that i've made: )

i plan on using them for handbags that i'm going to make. i have great black canvas left over from something ages ago that will be perfect for it. but i'd like to use them for other things, too. any ideas?

I just thought of something really cool to sew. I'm a beginning sewer, and was trying to come up with starter projects that are VERY novice.

Wine bottle gift bags! To buy them is super expensive, but sewing one up would be cheap as hell. I would imagine just sewing a cylinder to fit the bottle, then attaching a ribbon at the neck, to be tied into a bow. My cousin makes wine, and I bet he'd love these. Sweet!

hi everyone!!!
i got some really cool empty shadow boxes at ikea last week, and i want to suspend some stuff in them and i was wondering what the best way to do that is. the stuff i want to put in is too heavy for pins or thumbtacks.. i thought you ladies would have some excellent ideas!!

(shadow boxes are rectangular boxes usually made of wood and are about 3 inches deep with a glass front so you can put little objects, dried flowers, ect. in them )

thanks!!!

I've been lurking for a while, commenting on a few threads, and I thought i should post some of my own crafty things.

But, I need to know if there is some place I can upload my pictures because as far as I know Geocities doesn;t let you do a img link as far as i know... any ideas?

Does anyone know whether there is and S&B in the Portland (Oregon) area and if so where and when does it meet? If not, does anyone want to help me start one? My craftiness quotient is really dragging because I have nobody to craft WITH. *sob* Sad, but true.

My parents are dragging my on an old-people cruise to Alaska (and seriously, this is a senior-citizen cruise), and I want something crafty to take along with me to pass the time while I watch 70-somethings play pinochle and drink gin. I'm an intermediate knitter and I have basic sewing skills, and I think that beading will be too messy... any suggestions?

This is a community for discussion of making money off of your crafty talents. Get and give help and advice on your art/craft business. (This is not a place to simply advertise your stuff.)

Anyone is welcome, including those new to crafting as a business. No question is too "dumb" or "beginner".

Please limit posts to only content dealing with the business aspects of crafts, not how-to questions on making the crafts. There are other communities for that.

I have started a new community, called Prom Dress. It's just a place to show off your dress (not just prom, any dresses) and give and accept comments. NOT a prom community, just a DRESS community, I could care less about makeup, dates ect. Just dresses.

I need HELP!!!

I need icons, backgrounds, banners and anything else to make this place great! If you're interested in helping out (and of course you'll get credit) please email me: wakefieldjessica@yahoo.com

Thanks!

Just a quick question for those of you more experienced with a sewing maching than I am.

I'm having a problem. I'm trying to sew my rows and columns on my quilt top. When I run the fabric through the machine, the top stich looks great, while on the underside looks all wrong. There are big loops where the top thread goes over the bottom thread.

Make sense?

It's done this before, but it somehow worked itself out. This time, though, it's giving me a headache.

I've tried adjusting the thread tension and rethreading both the needle and the bobbin. Nothing is working to fix it.

Any ideas what's wrong?

mod podge on a muslin purse? good or bad?

It's one of those "burn-able" ones...it cracked so my sis gave it to me for some fun.
I snapped it a bit more with my bare hands and found that the cover was peeling off...it was just like thin silver foil!
Soo cool. I peeled a ton off, and found the cd is CLEAR BLUE!! OY!!! lol
I don't know if this is normal / i've been missing out, but i love this.
I was looking through the FAQ...and read about this glitter...what IS this glitter you speak of? I know nothing about CDs...I'm new at this "let's wreck the CD and create art"-ness lol
Anyone wanna fill me in?
clear blue-ness!!! WoW! )

i just realized that the side that's supposed to be read by the laser is still kinda rainbow-ish too under the light. COOL!!!
This is fun. You guys rock for crazy fun ideas.
