Is there a way to properly shrink a wool sweater down to a desired size?

Thanks!

i saw a website a few weeks back that feature these bags/totes in all different sizes and i'm wondering what site it was. i'm going nuts trying to find it, it's like a needle in a haystack now. maybe someone will know what i'm talking about.

so yesterday while at the mall i ran into the cutest little ring. it was one of those plastic chunky rings with black and white stripes. upon further examination i found that it was simply a clear ring with the stripes painted on the underside (not very well done, even). so i figured instead of spending 6 bucks on it, i could try to get some simple clear ones and paint them myself. question is, where's a good place to look for clear lucite rings? prefferebly cheap ones ^^
thanks in advance :)

i've decided i'm going to make them cookies but i don't know what to put them in.

i've already made his mother a record bowl with a plant in it, so another record bowl would be kind of eh.

Hello everybodies!
I made a purse. I like it. It is made from scraps. Wanna see it? It has a pouch for a cellular, lip gloss and keys. They are labeled. C'mon, why don't you take a look?

howdy all...

i was at a fair a couple of weeks ago, and there were these lamps made with paint cans. each can had a design punched in it, and a lightbulb inside. i wonder how they punched out the design without denting the can.

Hello fellow humans,

I’m in bit of a pickle – I’ve been trying to get information online on how to work with plastic, but I’m stuck. What I’m aiming to do are a few small plastic statues, from first making the statues in plaster, covering them in some sort of plaster-rubber to form the mold, then pouring plastic into the mold to get a plastic version of the original plaster statue.

I hope that makes sense. ;D

Of course, I have no idea what the technical terms for plastic castings are, or what sort of materials I should use – but this is for my (art) college portfolio, and I will be simply lost without it.

The kind of plastic I’m looking to work with is the typical hard regular plastic (poly urethane liquid plastic?), preferably one I can either paint or add color too during the melting process.

So where can I find these mystery products, either on-line or in the Los Angeles area – and what are the steps I need to follow in order to have a lovely end product?

All your comments are much appreciated!

First off, I really like Halloween. Mostly because it's the only time I see orange in abundance, and orange is my favorite color. But that's beside the point. The other day at Claire's I saw a really cute necklace. But all it was was a small plastic spiderweb sort of thing on springy memory wire. For 5 or 6 dollars! I thought to myself: Self... I can make that!

It appeared to me that the spiderweb thing was very similar to cut confetti that is everywhere for every holiday now. So I picked up some confetti on sale (Unfortunately I couldn't find spiderwebs, but I'm going to look at WalsMart tonight). I glued the confetti to an eye pin, put a jump ring on, and slid it onto some memory wire. I'm happy with it.

Take a look! )

Mole day (october 23) is coming up fast, and I need to make a stuffed mole for chemistry class. There is going to be a contest for the best mole, and the winner recieves a periodic table t-shirt!!! (and extra credit.. which i could use.. err.. if anyone's taken AP chem.. ITS A BITCH, AINT IT?)

Anyway... I digress

the theme this year is rock and roll, I'm pretty sure. I want to think of something creative... my friends have already thought of Molvis and Moltin John.

Any ideas? I promise I'll post pictures after I make it!

I had a bunch of even scraps of wood and I decided to make a holder for my precious WNJ issues... I collect. The pictures, words and stuff were cut out of the recent issue #21, as my copy I have had for 2 weeks becaome a victim of a really bad crease on the front cover, so I replaced it and cut out of the creased one. I have only lived in New Jersey for 2 and half years and I can thank my boyfriend for introducing me to the Weirdness of Jersey. I also have been fortunate to live right down the street from the Columbus Farmers Market, where they have a shop called Typo and they sell WNJ zines I have all issues #7 - #21. They even still have a bunch of the back issues if anyone is looking for them, for like $3-6 price range. I am also in possesion of the 2003 Roadside Issue and I am looking to get the book this weekend!! The authors Mark & Mark will be at the Moorestown Barnes and Noble for signing. I have to get it signed... either after I see Michelle or I'll ask her if she wants to go too. Happy New Jersey Days!!

i am just learning to crochet. i have a million "learn to crochet" books.. and have read all the popular crochet sites online... and im still havin' trouble reading patterns. i suppose i'll whine about that later. but for now... 2 questions:

when people crochet hats and they say "i just crocheted a big rectangle and stiched the edges together." .... i don't quite understand that. anyone have a diagram of that? do they sew the 2 ends together so it forms a circle.. and then stitch one end shut? confusing.

and does anyone know of a good site i could find that has good diagrams and instructions on how to make pom poms for hats. i've been told how... a couple different ways. but i need pictures.

thank you guys for your time =)

Betsy

Hi everyone! I was wondering if anyone had ideas of crafts, art, etc. to make in order to raise money for a cause.

I want to raise money to help my friend afford her gender transitioning procedures. <3
