I made this bag tonight from a vintage pillowcase and dollar table fabric, plus a little bit of ribbon and some interfacing. It's very pink. It only took about 2-3 hours, with some CSI breaks in the middle. Very easy to make, yet sturdy enough for everyday use.

can somebody please tell me how to make low-rise/low-rider jeans out of regular waist jeans?

I've heard bad things about just cutting off the entire waistband, like the zipper fucking up or the zipper never staying up..

any suggestions? thank you.

if this has been asked and answered before, feel free to direct me.. because i searched the memories and had no luck.

Do you think a '45 (you know, those small records) would turn into a good bowl? And how would you recommend plugging up the bottom hole?

I went to this awesome antique store in Philly yesterday and found a bunged up '45 with "Hey, Jude" on one side and "Revolution" on the other! The Beatles!! It was only a dollar too. :D

For my final photo assignment, I am shooting a fictional narrative about Mr. Fuji Apple and his adventures out of the fruit bowl. So last night, to get started, I crocheted a Mr. Fuji Apple squishy that I am going to take around with me, and I also crocheted another version of him with a shocked face (on the left!) :O This is for one of the scenes I am going to photograph, where he sees what the future will hold for him should he decide to stay in the kitchen fruit bowl (where another apple will get bitten into).

Measures about 2-3" and fits in the palm of my hand. :)
Crocheted with 100% acrylic yarn and an h-hook & stuffed with poly-fil.

I apologize this is such short notice,I only found out today! Monterey Peninsula College's Fashion club is hosting a 2005 spring show and I'm designing 12 outfits, but we need more designers and vendors! The theme is "fresh beginnings",but since fashion is art and very subjective, anything goes. I'm safetly guessing we need around 1-3 designers and vendors each.If you'd like to showcase your designs AND have a booth that would be awesome! A both and table will be provided to you.The show itself is on April 16 at Monterey Peninsula College in Monterey,Ca at four pm. I would really like to have everyone get back to me by the 31 of March. If you have any questions or would like to participate, please email me at notes_from_the_underground7@yahoo.com.If you would just like to attend, for the first 46 seats it is going to cost 20.00,for the next 66 seats it will be 15.00,and 10.00 for the last 33 seats. We will be serving drinks and appetizers,so the ticket price will cover that as well. Thanks for anyone who is interested and I look forward to hearing from you!

We're having my mom's side of the family over tomorrow for Easter and my aunt that usually makes the oh-so-necessary lamb cake isn't going to be able to make it. I remembered seeing a rubber duckie cake mold at Wal-mart and figured "heck, ducks are Easter-y enough." Sure enough, they're apparently TOO Easter-y and they were sold out. When faced with a plain pound cake, Scooby Doo, Sponge Bob, or a doll cake, I opted for the doll.

Knowing that there was no way in heck I would be able to fashion clothes for her out of frosting (I may be crafty, but I'm not that good), I bought some felt.

Well, I baked the 7-Up pound cake from scratch along with some reeeaaal buttercream frosting, and ta-da!

The Easter, um, Bunny )

Though I would call it a hobby, I'm not very good at scrapbooking. I tend to make things more complicated than they need to be and I just end up getting frustrated with it... so for the past few events that have happened that I feel are scrapbook-worthy, I was planning on making little mini scrapbooks. It would basically be a little larger than a normal 4 × 6 picture and the pages would have captions on them with very minimal decorations.

My question for you guys is, what's the best way to go about this? Should I laminate the pages and attach them with one of those metal rings in the upper left corner? Should I use eyelets? What do you think would be the most effective way of making this? If I don't laminate the pages, should I use colorful cardstock instead of normal paper? Any suggestions will do. Thanks!
