Here's my latest lithograph.

...hi everyone, I've been floating around this place for a bit and liking everyone's crafts a lot. For now though...I just have a question. I already looked through the memories and did an exhaustive web search, but didn't really find anything both plausible and satisfying, so I'll ask you guys...my most comfortable pair of jeans lost several pieces of zipper, and I want them back. :( I just don't want to go through the hassle of replacing the zipper and a professional job would cost too much. Does anyone know of a tasteful way to close them that doesn't involve a new zipper, like buttons? thanks :)

Oh yeah and, I made this awhile back but I've made a few in different colors since... round ripple )

This spring share and enhance your personal sense of LA style with a veritable who’s-who of Los Angeles movers and shakers at Red Carpet Boutique. This prestige shopping and entertainment event debuts at the classic Hollywood Roosevelt Hotel (in the Oscar Room no less!) on Saturday, May 21st from 11am to 4pm. Hosting a dynamic ensemble of LA’s crème-de-la-crème designers, artisans and entertainers, Red Carpet Boutique is the scene to be seen in.

“Red Carpet Boutique is an homage to the days of old Hollywood glamour and a tribute to Los Angeles’ collective trend-setting style,” says the event’s producer Seema Syed-Rodriguez owner of Event Diva.

Red Carpet Boutique will feature over 30 cutting-edge designers (ADD Handbags, Addore Leather Bags, Anne Segal, Bella Bloom Design, Noelle Handbags, Pink Stiletto, Saa.z Designs and Jacqui Chazen); inspiring creations (from celebrity florist and sponsor Tic Tock, Banyan Tree, Cheryl Dufault Jewelry, Joann Smyth Pearls & Fine Jewelry, Kitsch*n Glam Aprons, Pisces Soap, SandDollar Cosmetics, Stephanie Johnson); and flashes of celebrity sightings between floating silver platters of passed hors d’oeuvres and flutes of Rubies (Red Carpet’s twist on the mimosa prepared with Pomegranate Naked Juice).

Rolled out in true red carpet vibe, deejays to the stars, Amani K. Smith, DJ Hoe and Vic One will spin hypnotic beats between the auditory sensations of the Jared Douglas Band who’ll perform two live sets at 1 and 3. There will be door prizes and raffles such as a darling evening bag by BussBuss.com and jeweled bookmarks from Heaven Sent Jewelry; free samples from Coffee Bean and Tea Leaf between 1 and 3pm; and for those who are among the first 150 to RSVP or land on the VIP list, gift bags featuring over $100 worth of products from sponsors Fiji Water and Joico along with Niebaum-Coppola Winery's SOFIA champagne, Bon Appetit Magazine, Lola Cosmetics and more.

If five-star leisure is your choice for luxury, make an appointment for some pampering with a Moodivations Mobile Spa Experience -- a private on-site spa featuring a relaxing menu of massages, express manicures, Reiki hand/foot massages and Tarot readings. By the time your finished walking the Red Carpet you’ll no doubt need to recoup before a truly Hollywood evening over dinner in Theodore’s (The Roosevelt’s restaurant whose menu was created by Spago legend Wolfgang Puck) or cocktails in The Roosevelt’s’ posh Prada furnished lobby. Now that -- is a très LA day.

Red Carpet Boutiques will be held at a variety of historical Los Angeles landmarks once a season. Red Carpet Boutique is the brainchild of a consortium of Los Angeles based female business owners who wanted to contribute something extra special to Los Angeles’ entertainment shopping scene. For additional information visit www.redcarpetboutiquela.com or call 310-678-5943.

Eep, I have a problem!

I've been using the Speedball screenprinting kit, and I made a screen using the screen filler method, made a few prints, then just kept the screen how it was for about a month because I wasn't sure if I wanted to make more.

Now, I want to do a different design. I removed all of the screen filler with Greased Lightning, but I can't get the (fabric) ink off at all! I tried Windex as the instructions suggested, but it didn't even lighten...any suggestions?

Thanks in advance for any help!

not that you can tell, but this is a pink, white, sky blue and lilac blanket i crocheted for my daughter. I used two types of wool. but i can't remember for the life of me what they were called. the one was really soft and fuzzy and a pain to work with because you pretty much couldn't see the the holes you wanted to work in. Sonnet loves the blanket. Its one of her favorite things to play/ cuddle with. The different squares/rectangles were all different sizes and crooked, but shes to small to think about that so she adores it. I'm very proud of it, it took about 3 hours to do and is my first crochet project thats not a scarf.

my unfinished duct tape dress form is behind the cut.

So I bought this necklace off of ebay, and I got it in the mail today. I really like it, except it's a bit longer than I thought. Does anyone have any ideas on how I can shorten it? I can't just remove the beads because they don't slide--they are securely in place.

I also thought about just putting the clasp in between beads (so that the excess is in the back hanging down), but since the beads go from large in the middle and progressively get smaller towards the ends, it looks a bit lopsided.

Any ideas?

Dearest crafty [livejournal.com profile] craftgrrl-ers... i posted some photos a few months back of what I do with my spare time to keep myself amused. Your support and encouragement was partly responsible for me getting my arse into gear enough to kick several other arses into gear to have an art show, which has gone down a treat and opened up all sorts of new doors for me... so I just wanted to give y'all props for this awesome community and hope that whatever your craftiness is, go hard... you rock. really.

there are a few pix of my art dolls up here, from the opening of NASTY on 30th April...

oh - and for the record - if any of you ever make stuff that uses batteries, for god's sake don't scrimp on the quality no matter how poor you are, or you'll be spending every ten minutes replacing the bastards. trust me.

any chance someone who has the new issue of knit.1 wants to scan the pattern for the rainbow striped tank top for me?
i bought it, i swear i did, and today after school i go to the store and buy my yarn and am all excited to come home and start...and i can't find my copy. and, needless to say, i am very very disappointed. this was going to be my nice relaxing project to work on while taking breaks from writing my term paper all weekend. so please, please, anyone?

what type/brand of paint sealant do you all suggest ?
i drew all over this pleathery material wallet with sharpies and fabric markers (DecoFabric) ... and was wondering what type of sealant i should use to make it so that my drawings wont fade over time. sorry, this is probably a dumb question ...

here are some pictures of it
also -- do you think i should draw on all three sides ? or just the front as it is now ?
thank you much :) byebye
