I've been on a role making jewellery lately. I have two craft shows coming up, and here is what I've come up with!

Warning: there are a LOT of pictures... I had a mini photoshoot the other day, and for once I was happy with the outcome!

...a long, long time ago (last year), I promised a friend that I'd make her a blanket for her birthday. The problem was I couldn't decide what sort of colors and pattern I wanted to use. She left it up to me to decide and told me a few colors she didn't like, but that was pretty much it.

I debated for a few months on various ideas, but nothing seemed quite right.

The story continues, with three pics )

I was bored last night so I made this cloisonne fish necklace (from a fish charm I picked up in Chinatown ages ago) to go with my Lucky fish t-shirt that I'm wearing today.

Or is it called something else in particular? I did an Amazon.com search and I don't know what the right search term would be. I have large branches that came down during the last windstorm and I want to use them for indoor decorating (curtain rods, stair rails). Does anyone know, or know of a good reference, for how to treat them and have them not get buggy and such? Can I get away with just sanding and varnishing them, or do I need to do something special?

I was wondering if anyone had a pattern for a shirt like this, or if anyone could help me figure out how to cut out a shirt like this from a white tshirt. Thanks so much.

Hello everyone!

Some of you may remember, I posted this crochet amigurumi bunny a while back:
Amigurumi Bunny

I created him for a short film/slide presentation/fancy slideshow for a photography class project. Well, I finally finished rendering it (and getting settings right for YouTube!) and have put the video up, since tonight is "Premiere Night" in class. ^o^

You can watch the video here~

I have been planning to make style icon necklaces for quite some time, but finally figured out what materials to use for it just a couple of weeks ago. I settled on shrinky dinks (as usual), and here are the lovely girls I have finished so far. What do you think??? (also, I lack some decades, suggestions very welcome for those!)

Um, hi! I'm relatively new here, so I'm not sure how strict you guys are about cuts for pictures. So I figured I was better safe than sorry. So here's a headband I knitted, as modelled by my 90-year old grandma:

As if being obsessed with knitting wasn't enough of a hobby, I took up sewing a few weeks ago.

Hand-sewn stuff )

Then at the weekend I bought a mini sewing machine from Superdrug for just £7.99! It works perfectly and came ready-threaded. I thought I'd find it tricky because I haven't used one since I made a terrible pair of purple cullottes in Textiles class when I was 13. But it wasn't that hard, and once I'd got the hang of it there was no stopping me...

Machine-sewn stuff )

It's much more instantly satisfying than knitting, and better for the summer months (because who needs hats and scarves when June's around the corner?). I'm definitely going to do some more :-D

I apologize in advance for a pictureless question, but this just sort of hit me and you are the craftiest bunch I know.
At my prom this year, one of the favors we got was a glass bottle filled about halfway with sand, glitter on top, and a few tiny seashells (tropical theme). I somehow ended up with two, probably left at my house by a friend. Anyways. The one has been shaken up a little bit, and the sand/glitter/shells are all mixed together. Not as pretty. The other still looks really nice, and I'd like to keep it that way. My question is, what can I do to achieve this? I was thinking pouring something like clear wax in might work, just to keep everything in place, but I'm not sure how clear the wax would get or if this would really work all that well. Any other suggestions? Thank you so much!
