It may not be October yet, but this is my first Halloween living on my own, and I'm getting a head start!

This is Halloween, this is halloween... )

But I don't have access to a camera at the moment.  Soon as I do, I'll be posting pictures of what me and my friend have been doing (quilts, curtains, messenger bags, scarves, sock monkeys, dishcloths, and I'm sure I'm forgetting something)

But anyways.   She is looking for fabric with ravens on it, and google is no help to me, because Glen Raven is a brand of fabric.  So I pose to you, you crafty ladies (and gents), where would you find such a thing?  I'm not convinced it exists.....

the catch is, it needs to be a fairly masculine fabric print, as it's for her big brother.

Any ideas?  Or any favorite fabric websites where we might find something?  I've already tried my personal fav, Fabric.com

Thanks so much!

I have a question for you peeps -

For a while I've been thinking about doing some crafty stuff and selling it on the side for some extra cash.

I'm still working out the math of all of it, but my main concern is that if it's something I HAVE to do, it won't be fun anymore. Something like "damn I HAVE to get this scarf done, this sucks" instead of "ooh yarn!"

Have any of you encountered that? Is it hard to overcome or is it really not an issue?

Is it hard to stay motivated to do crafty things for business purposes?

Ok so I havent posted in about a billion years mainly because school has sucked the life out of me.  Here is my latest crafty effort.  Im starting my Christmas crafting this week but also thought Id send this photograph (along with a few others) to the folks at feltclub.com with an application for their craft fair.  Is anyone else in the LA area doing this?  Has anyone done it before?

Anyway, onto the box:

how could i forget to post? i finally have images of what i have been up to! i have taken up quite an interest (border line obession ;) with beading earrings lately. lots of research and inspiration later, you have these:

Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket

the first three i made without a beading needle...i was that curious and motivated, hehe :) my hands and eyes forgave me later. i enjoy the longer, more intricate patterns. i cant wait to start beading more, i have plenty of beads, but lack of proper string (no nylon i like, and i cant get to any nymo?)

my learning process and inspiration came from a tutorial i found here:
http://www.shira.net/make-earrings.htm

what does everyone think? :)

If this is not allowed, please remove it mods!

For those who make their own chapstick, how do you label it?  I've seen using just paper and packing tape, but do you have any other crafty ways?  For instance, are their labels you can buy that are the PERFECT size that you just pop into your printer?

**EDIT:** I added a picture in case people were confused about what kind of tent I'm talking about.. they're just set up in parking lots before college football games.

So ours will be like that except plain white, and we want to make it look festive by painting it.

I was wondering if anyone has had experience with painting a tailgating tent. I looked it up, the material they are made out of is called "polypropyline."
My questions are:
1. What kind of paint can we use that will stay put?
2. If no paint will work, what about sealants?
Thanks tons for any replies! Will post pics after the fact.

ast night i decided i wanted to learn embroidery. well, maybe i didn't decide that last night, but i decided to try it last night. really, i only know the back stitch and how to make a french knot, but that's ok with me for now! i tried embroidering one of the white twins felt pins, but i haven't finished that yet.

today i decided to try it on paper instead and i think i like that even better. i just drew the image on the back of the paper and stitched over it!

anyway, now i want to buy a million colors of embroidery floss!

IT'S WATERPROOF! :D

And just how do I know, you ask? Because my fiance accidentally knocked over about a half glass of water on it... and it survived with no damage :)

This is a journal page I did yesterday . . . about having a bad migraine (in case you couldn't tell).

I took the very cool photo bottom left at First Friday in KC in a gallery with my Olympus XA-2. It was of bottles and jars filled with collections of small things like aspirins, hair rubber bands, etc., and then filled with colored resin. I was mesmerized by it.
