Can anyone recommend a good place online to get decently priced shadow boxes (small ones, around 5"x7"). I've been combing google but can't find smaller ones.

Hi!  I'm new to craftgrrl and am finally getting around to posting.  I taught myself, via books and online videos, how to knit in order to make a gift for my mom for Christmas.  I wound up knitting 4 different presents: scarves for my grandparents and a cellphone holder (first knitting project ever) and an earwarmer.

I made this for a friend who is a HUGE Daft Punk fan for Christmas and she LOVED it so I thought I’d share. Photobucket It's made with Sculpey, Mod Podge and my ink jet printer. More pics of my crafty Christmas gifts soon. Happy New Year everyone!!

Some of these havven't been drilled yet, some have. All are handpainted.

The back of this one is painted black with tons of red glitter so that it has two wearable sides.

I have a quick question for everyone here.

I bought my boyfriend a sweatervest, and decided to put a snowflake on it (I assure you it is more awesome than it sounds). I had seen a program about faking intarsia by replicating the knit stitches in a new color, which is what I'm doing -- I'm sure this has a name, but I have since forgotten it. Unfortunately, the wrong side of my creation is looking a little...scary. Somewhere in the center, the ends of the embroidery floss got weaved in and stuck in loops and I had to cut some things to make it not look like a disgusting hairy knot. But this means smaller ends that I fear might unravel through the knitted sweater. I have some fusible interfacing lying around, and was wonder if me ironing it to only the sketchy center of the inside of the snowflake, thus capturing all the ends and locking them in place, would work to correct for my mistake. If not, what can I do? Also, if the interfacing will work, can the item be machine washed? (I am going to ask him to hand wash it, but you know.)

Thanks for any input, and I promise to post pictures of the finished item. :)

I'm really sorry for the text only (this is also my first post! ha!) but I have a question about Amigurumi!
I've been trying and trying and TRYING to make a cute little doll, but every time I crochet in the round,
the head turns out like...the shape of my thumb...not cute at all...

CAN ANYONE HELP ME OUT?!
I'm basically obsessed with these cute softies, so I really want to know how to make them!!!
Thanks in advance!

I made this for my boyfriend's birthday. It's based on his dog, a geriatric, diabetic jack russell named Jenny. He's moved out for college and misses her bigtime, so this was a cheerup.

If anybody is interested, check out my blog- http://www.bleachingstream.blogspot.com , where I post a drawing/sewing/clay thing every day. I'd post here more often but I'm not sure what the consensus on drawing as craft is in here! And if any of you have a blog/site and would like to swap links with me that'd be awesome. I'm clueless about promotion and stuff.

Okay, so, now that Christmas is officially over, I can post some of the presents I made for people. By some I mean 3. I just got into sewing, and the pillows I made were fairly crude as far as stitching goes, but since you can't see the stitching, I did okay. :)

On to the pillows! )

My finished knit amigurumi biscuit! From the book あみぐるみでゆるり by Sachiyo Fukao, ISBN9784056048803.

Just plain acrylic; the main body is knit and the edging is crochet. I hand-stitched a pillow for the inside with some cheap fabric and stuffed with polyester fiber-fill.

Technically, this is my 52nd project in 2007 and my original goal was 50. XD Yay!
