Hey all!

Sorry for the text-only post, but I've searched the memories and past posts, and I'm at a loss.  I could swear someone posted something a while back about weaving plastic grocery bags into a big, sturdy reusable tote.

I'm not talking about fusing the plastic bags together, though that is indeed awesome and I do plan on doing it in the future.  But for now, I just want something I can do mindlessly while watching TV.

Thanks!

Anyone else watch "Ace of Cakes" on the Food Network? Duff is my hero. Tonight they made an *amazing* knitting basket cake, filled with yarn balls and a partial scarf. I can't find any pictures of it yet. Check it out if you can catch it on rerun! It's pretty frigging cool. Of course, I'm basing this partly on the skill, partly on the fact that it marries two of my greatest loves -- yarn and sugar art.

I quilted this little coaster set for a friend's birthday. They were so much fun, and a nice break from the giant, all-consuming quilt I've been working on for months.

Just under a week ago, I proudly presented my first crocheted animal here. Today I got rather bold, and tried to make one without a pattern, based on a picture I ones saw of a crocheted kitten.
My kitten is finished, and this is how she looks!

I have been working on this blanket it seems forever, but last night I decided to keep at it until it was finished. This morning I washed it and then put the ribbons on as the finishing touch. I made a sweater and bonnet from the same pattern this past fall and of course, my granddaughter has already grown out of them. But this blanket she will be able to use for a long time, and treasure, I hope. She is 15 months old now, so this she can put on her bed or just snuggle up in.

Two years ago, we at the Institute brought you the wonderful magic of the Peepinator 3000. We enjoyed launching those Peeps so much, we decided that one day, we would have to make a Peep catapult.

Friends, that day is today.
