So I'm working on the user info. A few days ago I removed a few inactive communities that we had listed and added a few new ones.

Now I'm thinking of adding links to informative websites that crafters can not live without. On my list so far:
http://www.thistothat.com/ (glue advice)
http://www.knittinghelp.com/ (knitting videos)
http://www.nexstitch.com/Tutorials.html (crochet videos)
http://www.iamintheloop.com/artofcrochet/guides.php (crochet videos)
http://www.joyofhandspinning.com/ (hand spinning videos)
http://www.auntiesbeads.com/Category.aspx?ID=9cac5bca-d677-4ff6-ad2b-72558e3751dc (beading and jewelry videos)
http://www.knitting-and.com/spinning/index.html (hand spinning and dyeing tutorials)
http://glassattic.com/ (polymer clay encyclopedia)
http://cyberseams.com/how_to_cyberseams.php (hand sewing and knitting tutorials)
http://www.expertvillage.com/video-series/1001_sewing-machine.htm (how to use a sewing machine)
http://www.sewsing.com/singersewingblog/ (more sewing machine tutorials)

Anyone have any other suggestions?

Shrink Film

Hey guys I checked the memories and found nothing specific on this product. Has any one ever used Shrink Film with good results. If so can you please show the different types of work you have done with it? I got some of this recently and can't seem to do anything I wanted with it.

First of all, it's supposed to be printable, but all the designs I've printed on it come out blurry, too light, and smudge easily. Anyway around this?

Second, how on earth can I make a clean hole in this? I've tried a few different methods (puncturing it with an icepick and using a craft hole puncher that is bigger than a normal one. Each time it tears the thin plastic sheet or won't punch clean through it. It leaves a messy jagged feel to it. How can I fix this?

Also any tip on using Shrink Film or any other types of shrink plastic would be wonderful. I'm really at a loss. Please respond with suggestions, pictures, ideas, ect. Anything is appreciated and welcome.

So after I made the lampshade I decided that I would like to make a base. The idea is to take different shades of paint similar to the shade and put each one into a clear base, shake up the base so it has swirled colors of light blue, yellow, and dark blue. I would then like to decoupage the same stars used on the shade onto the base. My question is, can I buy a base already drilled with holes for the wiring or is it more than likely that I would have to do that myself? Because if I have to do it myself I don't see it happening. Thanks for any help.

I'm incapable of giving conventional gifts.
Meet "Ol' Fuss & Feathers," named by a friend of mine hahaha.

A gift for a classmate who graduated early (I made this 2 months ago, but hadn't gotten around to posting it until now):

Materials: various kinds of art paper (including washi, cardstock, bristol, computer paper), prismacolor soft pencils, glue.
More photos and details (including the wrapping, which I was quite proud of!) can be found here.

For my daughter's 2nd birthday, I'd sewn her a mermaid.
Over the past year (she just turned 3 in April), I've been slowly repairing things about her that I really didn't like.

While my daughter loved her before and played with her all the time, when she found her the other morning with her makeover, she freaked out. In a good way. I'm glad I was able to fix her up and now that I have, she's finally good enough to post online for you all to see. She's not perfect, but she'll have to do.

My mother loves anything that involves fashion, art, and a place to store her craft projects. I found a huge card box (the Christmas one's from Costco that hold about 100) inside of our cluttered garage. I remade the cardbox into a place that my mother could store her stuff- and for her to love the box itself, too.

At work the other day as part of our store meeting we had a surprise baby shower for one of our coworkers. I made a few cheesy onesies for her:

Made with recycled leather from thrift store garments, rubber cement, thread, a bit of silver sharpie, and PATIENCE!
Hope you dig it as much as I dug making it...
(Oh yeah, I fire dance, so leather is helpful in the costume department!)

I made jewelry tonight. This is a custom set for one of my dance acquaintences. She provided the coral and the silver beads. I think it came out quite nice!

and a bracelet to match the set!
