I made this necklace tonight using suede, wood/glass/ceramic beads, very thin wire, feathers, and some sort of bone marrow?

This is gonna be text only but I have some pictures coming of other stuff real soon i promise!

I'm actually asking on behalf of my hubby. He's trying to make himself a Mr Freeze action figure. For reference for those who may not know who he is (I sure didn't until I married him but apparently knowing every single superhero in existence along with their villans etc is common knowledge and I'm just sheltered:P) This is what he's going for:

He's got pretty much all the components figured out except the bubble over his head. So I'm scouting for ideas for how we could make this??? We've tried a few different things - the closest to success was warping a plastic drink bottle over the top of a testube with a heat gun but it wouldn't melt smoothly. I went to the candy machines around town looking for those little plastic toys that used to come in those cases thinking we could use one of those but there aren't any that have them anymore.

We have access to a large amount of tools and mold making materials and we have plastic we can cast in but its not clear and we can't afford to buy the clear stuff right now.

anyway i realize it's an odd sort of question but any ideas or suggestions that pop into your heads would be really welcome.

x-posted in my own lj.

Hello ladies! I am here asking for help,. My sister is a manager at a bookstore and she is in charge of throwing a party for the release of Stephenie Meyers new book 'Breaking Dawn'. The thing is she hasn't read any of the books and I just started reading the first one =/, So, my dears I ask does anyone have ideas on what to do for the party? She said she needs idea for decorations, prizes, and she wants to do a craft with all the people that show up at midnight.

The only thing that I could come up with so far is to buy body glitter and pass that out so everyone can be all sparkly hehe. Any help would be greatly appreciated and thanks in advance! ;)

Oh and just so this isn't text only here is a doll I made a while ago. Her name is Matilda )

I made this guy out of blankets and buttons that I got from the thrift store. The only new stuff is the thread and the embroidery floss.

I love that his ears and eyes are uneven.

My husband says I'm weird. )

Also, I have an ancient cat that can't properly use the litter pan anymore. For about two years now, I've been using puppy pads, at $12-$15 a bag about two times a month. A friend of ours also has a bit of a problem with her cat not wanting to use the litter pan. She came over the other day and saw our puppy pads on the floor. She mentioned that she used old towels cut in half. My husband and I both had a duh, could have had a V8 moment. Neither one of us could believe that we hadn't thought of that. So, we ran to the thrift store and picked up some towels. I cut them apart, sewed a simple zigzag stitch along the raw edge, and we put them into use. All for about $10! I'm now working on getting old towels from friends to have more of them.

I made these for a swap on craftster. They were inspired by something on my partners Wist.

They are made from poly clay.

Hey everybodies! So I lurked here on and off for a while, now I've actually decided to join (yay!). Okay, onto my first question...

So I've recently started dabbling with crochet with more than just single and double crochet. I've started crocheting in the round! Now, I normally am an avid knitter, so knitting in the round, anything related to knitting, piece o' cake,! Crocheting, not so much...

I have this book with adorable amigurumi in them, and I'm wanting to make a cute little octopus out of a skein of Lamb's Pride worsted I have lying around.

Here's my question, the directions sort of baffle me..

Baby
Head and Body

R1: Ch 2, 6 sc in second chain from hook.
R2: 2 sc in each sc around. (12 sts)

Okay, so my understanding of abbreviations, this means chain two stitches, six single crochet in the second chain from hook.
Two single crochet in each single crochet around.

Ehhhh....I don't get it. Can someone translate for me?

So I posted on here sometime last week about ideas/tips for embossing. Thanks SO much for all the help!
So before you see them... I just want to say that my sister didn't really want to have a big ol' wedding but the in-laws insisted that she have something more than just going to the Justice of the Peace (which both the bride and groom wanted to do). They're having it in the in-laws' backyard- it is really nice, though... alot of greenery and flowers.- and having about 70 people. It's a very low-key wedding (I think the most expensive thing is her dress!) and she didn't want anything over-the-top for her invites... so she turned to me.
I don't emboss much... meaning, a card or two here and there.. but it's never the main focus of the card.

So, I have a question and an incredibly cool thing I found.

The cool thing is a collection of photos of anatomically correct fabric and yarn brains.

The question is for my mother. I looked through the memories for kid's crafts, but didn't find what I was looking for. She's teaching 20-some summer school kids, and she and her friends were having problems thinking of crafts.

The theme is desert, the kids are going into 4th grade this fall (but are in summer school for a definite reason), and the budget is somewhat low. Any ideas?

Does anybody know any websites where one could find zippers under seven inches, other than eBay? If I have to buy in bulk, I'm fine with that, too.
So this isn't just a question post, here's some magnets I threw together as a quick little gift:
