Hi. I just found this community, and look forward to reading everyone's ideas. My main form of creativity is in cross stitch embroidery, mostly gifts I make for friends and family. You can see some of my work here if you're interested.

I do have a question I'm hoping someone here can help me with. My family attends the Renaissance Faire every year, and I am looking for a simple pattern for making a shirt for my 7-month-old son. I still have pants my older son wore at about the same age, but his shirt was eaten by the washing machine, so we need a new one. Can anyone suggest a place to find a pattern like this? Searching online hasn't been very successful, except a link to here! ^_^

Thanks!

This is my kid. She will be a year in September. Read more... )
For Christmas I want to make her some felt food. Something like this:

I'm thinking the felt stuff is better than plastic - and I can make lots of different foods for her to play pretend with...

Do you think the felt that is sold in the fabric store is safe for little kids to chew on? Or do you think I should be looking for something organic with natural dyes? Any ideas where I can get felt with natural dyes?

Also, anyone ever make felt food? Did you use a pattern?

Thanks!

I need some help regarding setting wholesale prices for my (jewelry) items. In my experience shops can add from 200 to 350 % to my original price when selling the items in their shops (I live in Sweden, so this accounts for mostly Swedish and the occasional European shop). I find it hard to set a price that will both make it worthwhile for me and make it sellable in a store. Any suggestions, rules of thumb, experiences you´ve had? Also, photos of some of the stuff I make:

Here's a plain notebook that I customised using David Shrigley transfers from Third Drawer Down.

Pics under here! )

It's been years since I played with transfers, and it was a lot of fun!
