I need to order some jewelry findings but would do much better if I knew what they were called.

they're little loops with a screw in part so I can put them into my clay jewelry. I want to say they're SORT OF like a bail, only... not.

like this thing )

anyone?

thanks ahead of time.

Ring 2

This ring actually is my style. No, it's not gold, it's reflecting an orange shelf above my desk.

I need a new printer to print out artwork, tags, etc. I'd love something that prints really beautifully, doesn't have a ton of ink cartridges, cartridge replacements aren't too expensive, isn't too expensive itself (preferably $100 - $200). Probably it would be an inkjet unless you know of a laser printer that is under $200ish. I'd love to have a combo that's a scanner/copier as well.

do you have one (or a brand) that you love? I've had a lexmark 3-in-one for about 5 years and it scans great but printing has gone way downhill and it won't recognize my new laptop.

many thanks for any advice!

I was crocheting a scarf but then I ran out of yarn and now I have this Thing that's too short to be a scarf.... And I don't want to unravel it. Any ideas on what I could do with it (besides adding on because I don't have any more of the same kind of yarn) or what it could be used for?

It is pink/brown/tan. About 6 inches wide, 30 inches across. My apologies for being picture-less.

here's a journal page I just now finished! Hopefully it was all dry before I put it on the scanner. I should be doing other work, but felt the need to work in my journal first.

When making plushie stuffed animals -- for example, I want to make some monsters -- what would you recommend the best material to use would be? I don't want to use felt, because I would like to use something a little softer. I may use felt for like the eyes/nose/mouth/etc, though. What would you recommend for the entire thing? Thank you!

Thank you all so much for your suggestions. I ended up using the e6000 adhesive. We'll see if any of this falls off onto my head!

If you didn't see the previous post these are found items from when I had to walk to work after my divorce.

I don't have a camera right now but took a few photos with my laptop.

hey gals!
i have two little questions about soap making...

- do i have to prepare my molds so that the soap will come off properly (like it is done with butter for baking pans)? how will i get the soap out in the end?
- also, would it be ok to use silicone ice cube molds? like for example these http://www.mega-merchandise.de/images/products/big/10509.jpg or will i not be able to get the soap out?

thanks everyone!

is there something to learn from creative blockages? is it something asking to be healed? as children we are incredibly creative beings, and it is our childhood that is the root of all of our significant interactions with ourselves and others.

today i have been doing all of this soul searching over creativity, childhood, and healing the artist within. this is what i came up with this morning:

personal and i use the 'f' word )

i realized after writing this that because i tend to sabatoge myself with all of these ideas and no place to start, i should start by working on the little things: mending hems, adding trims, fixing the bits. once all of the mending is done, i won't have *that* excuse anymore.

then i can move onto finishing the projects i started over varying degrees of time, or just get rid of them.

THEN, i can work on the new ideas and not be distracted by all the little things pulling my energy in different directions.

does that make sense? this block has been really long standing, and i am posting about it here because this community has been highly instrumental in the refiring of my creative impulses. i really find you all so wonderful and inspiring.

i don't know if this will work, but, it's worth a try, right?

how do you process and break through blockages? what are some of the issues you might have that you find hinder your ability to move forward with your dreams, however large or small they may be?
