I'm not sure this is crafty enough for here, but I wanted to share anyway.
I took a mixed media workshop at the local museum Saturday. This is what I have to show for it. I'm rather proud of myself.

Detail under here )

Okay, my husband is in this contest to win a Nissan Cube car and we were trying to come up with some neat ideas to show people the car and try and get votes ect.
I thought of a cake and helped him to make it. This is his first cake and I think he did well.
Every one at the party ate it up. : )

I took a couple more pictures and there here if any one wants to see more.

This was an easy undertaking. I had this old metal hook thing that was made for the garden, I picked it up from a craft store a few years ago. I originally had it hanging up by the door in an apartment that I shared with another girl. Now I live in an apartment by myself, and my style is more modern. I really needed a place to hang my jackets and things by the door so I repainted the hooks bright orange with some oil paint that I had laying around. I'm pretty happy with the result.

Hey there crafty people!

I have a question about button makers, the pin-on kind not the garment kind.

Anyone have any suggestions of ones to get or to stay away from? Refills? I'd love to hear what you all know about them.

~Thanks

EDIT: I've looked at the memories and there was a lot of great info there. Most of the helpful stuff was from 5 years ago. I just wanted to see if anyone has any recent expieriences.

Help!!! I have to make a book for my printmaking class. It's a little too complicated for the amount of time I have left to do sequencing and figure out where things need to be printed, and it takes too long for it to dry. So I'm doing single 9"x12" pages. How the heck do I bind these all together??? There's gotta be a way... I am only coming across coptic binding though.
