I apologize in advance, but I'm trying to make my first knit hat. And my first cabling...ever.

The pattern* says "c2 over 1 right p" and "c2 over 1 left p" a few times. I don't know what this means. The description for the right is "cl1 to CN, hold in back, k2, pl from CN."

I know what k and p are, knit and purl, but if someone could describe to me exactly what the c2 over whatevers is in laymen's terms, I'd appreciate it!

Copper & Petrified Wood

+2 )

I have a lot of these petrified wood slabs, and was thinking about making "Tree Spirit" pendants out of them and recycled sterling silver wire. I used copper for this prototype, and my least attractive piece of petrified wood.

So what do you think? Should I make a small collection of these in silver, or are my other trees so much better that I should focus all my attention on them?

Hello everyone, I need some ideas. This is the best community I could come up with to post this question but if you have a better suggestion please let me know.

Today at work I found an old, broken globe that had been sitting on top of some lockers for probably longer than I've been alive. I decided to rescue it with the idea that I would make some neat bowls out of it. Basically what I have are two hollow half-spheres, each with a hemisphere of the earth on it. They are made out of cardboard; think cereal box, but thicker. I would like to make the inside of them food-safe in some way. Not necessarily liquid proof, I'm thinking more of a popcorn bowl or a fruit bowl type thing. Do you have any ideas of how I could achieve this? I might mention that one of them is fractured, so I'll have to glue and/or tape it together from the inside before I proceed, so any sort of clear coating probably wouldn't be the best idea. I tried to be creative but so far I haven't come up with any feasible ideas. Also, if it matters, there is a tiny hole in the bottom of each hemisphere where the axle used to be, it's probably about this big: O (yes I know that's ambiguous depending on your computer, it's just small). So guys, any ideas would be very appreciated!

Thank you!
