I found these really cool plastic water guns and decided to alter them to make them look older and more like a 1950's-1960's ray guns and I am really happy with how they turned out.

Both guns are approximately 3.75 inches across and 2.75 inches tall and are very comfortable for my smaller hand. Each one was painted in several base coats of Krylon for plastics in Hammered Copper and then painted with enamel paints and accented with brass findings, swarovski crystals and copper wire.

The first one I did for my boyfriend but he decided he doesn't want it :( Oh well more for me then I guess :)

My friend and I are in charge is organizing a summer solstice craft activity for a group of kids this weekend, and I'm wondering if any of you have any ideas? We'll have about an hour for this craft, and the kids are ages 7 - 11. I'm hoping to avoid the paper plate sun. I was thinking a suncatcher might be nice, but what's a good one to make in an hour for this age group? I'd love to hear your ideas!

And so this post includes a pretty picture of a craft, here is my latest tree of life )

Thanks! :)

[EDIT: Thank you so much for the ideas, everyone! My friend and I decided to make suncatchers out of pipe cleaners and beads with the kids. If they turn out nice, I'll post pics here. Thanks again! :)]

Hi, I'm a long time lurker and first time poster (well, I made a post yesterday but it got deleted because I am an idiot).

I make baby/lap quilts, pot holders, stuffed animals and some cat toys.

(A lot of photos behind cut) )

I haven't photographed any of the stuffed animals or cat toys yet, but I will soon.

Any feedback would be great. Thanks a lot!

So i decided to try a different kind of bag using seatbelts this time. And I figured with the release of the new Transformers movie right around the corner that the seatbelts would go well with the fabric I had bought. This will probably be a 1 of a kind item, as it took a ton of work and a lot of seatbelts to create. I think I won't be making anymore unless someone specfically requests one.

i acid etch glass & mirrors & with 3 kids i don't have a lot of time to do it anymore (and also no unbroken things i can show you :( i broke my very first piece a couple weeks ago & i can't even blame the kids)

however for my grandmother's birthday my brother asked me to drag out my stuff & etch a few things for her from him/us.

but in order to understand you need the backstory... )
