Sep. 19th, 2009 12:28 pmmade this for my little brother while visiting my parents during vacation.
he loves chickens & this img. is from one of the paintings he's been given.
the glass is non-glare picture frame glass (which takes to the acid beautifully) & the edges have been smoothed down with wet/dry sandpaper. thanks to everyone who helped me figure out that part :D
my next step is learning how to drill holes in the glass to hang it....wish me luck!
( doing the funky chicken! )

Sep. 19th, 2009 03:40 pmHey guys! I just bought a baby pink Asus Eee laptop. Because it was relatively inexpensive, I think I feel confident enough to decorate its cover. I wanted to either screenprint, transfer or etch an ornate design into it. But I have no clue how to make it permanent...I hate the look of peeling/scratching/rubbing off. I want a really clean, sharp finish as well, not so much a cut-and-pasted mod-podged type of look. Any brilliant suggestions? I was considering etching with a stencil but I don't think the normal glass etching stuff would do anything.
World Civilizations
Sep. 19th, 2009 07:33 pmHello everyone.
For my world civilizations class, I'm doing a research paper on Viking ships (construction, symbolism, functions, etc).
I want to make a replica of a Viking ship. I don't really have a preference on which type of ship to make. I mean, a real deal thing, preferably made out of wood and extremely historically accurate. I want something...not too big, but big enough to see details (25"?).
I've never messed around with wood, but I'm determined to do this. Can anyone direct me to links or tutorials on how to create one? Has anyone done model boat building? It doesn't have to float, as it will be just for display.

Sep. 19th, 2009 08:15 pmHi grrls!
Here's some clothes and things I've been customising lately. First item:
Candy pants!

And now onwards, including the results of dyeing chuck taylors I was asking about ages ago:
( Oh, my! )

Falls again...
Sep. 19th, 2009 11:39 pmI snapped a few more photos of the red falls if anyone is interested.
I put them in pigtails. I was so pleased with how they looked.
