My niece wants to dress as a Devil, we bought the costume but still short of the tail.
Made this tail from felt and I insert wire so that it can be bended

In Omnific Assembly’s latest exhibition, Echo’s Lost, 15 local and international artists examine the cold, clinical idea of memory through the warm, tactile medium of craft, translating the abstract into tangible form. Presented in an antique cabinet on display in the window of one of Melbourne best loved vintage stores, Circa Vintage Clothing, this exhibition focuses on memory and what is left behind when the memory fades.

Echo's Lost can be seen at Circa Vintage Clothing, 102 Gertrude St, Fitzroy from the 23rd of September to the 11th of October, 2009.
Exhibition is on display 24 hours a day.
Opening night: September 23 at 6:00pm

Craftgrrls! I'm a little stumped. I bought this cabochon a couple of years ago at a gem show. It was unlabeled, but with several others of the same stone. Fairly high priced (For me, I think this one was $40?). But I fell in love with it. But I meant to ask and forgot, the retailer scribbled the name and I can't read it At All.

I keep thinking it's very low grade ruby, since it perfectly matches the ruby bead I've used in the wrap.

Thank you [livejournal.com profile] tequiladawn! I think it's Eudialyte!
I also think I have a new stone to add to my list of favorites.

Well the first batch is done! Several days of drying, hours of putting together and icing, one very sore thumb and one casualty to the sugar skull gods, here they are. All 14 of them. I am so stoked with the outcome.

Okay, SO I had a blast making a diaper cake. It still needs a little tweaking, like evening out the ribbon etc. But here it is. It's for my friend Rachel's baby who is due to be born on October 25th - 3 days before my birthday. He is extra special to me because Jason and Adam (the daddies) are such great buddies, I have a feeling Evan (my son) and Edward (boy to be born!) will be such great buddies too.
