Cuban butterfly Phoebis Avellaneda was discovered by Herrich-Schäffer in 1865 and called in honour of Spanish poetess Gertrudis Gómez de Avellaneda.

This beaeded butterfly is woven of 11 colours to reflect shades of yellow and red on the butterfly's wings.
