I have two patterns for a Yoshi toy. Would it be possible to sort of splice the patterns together so that I get the head from this pattern on the body of this pattern?

Hello my fellow crafters!

Mother's Day is coming up & I'm looking for inspiration. I have this glass vase & some blue beads that I'd like to do something with...

My main craft is crocheting- I've already crocheted her a few things for the house, but I'm drawing a blank on what I can do to make this a worthy gift. I thought about crocheting a flower bouquet, but decided against it as my mom isn't really interested in that.

It's finals week so I can't take on too much.
So I ask you, crafty people, what would YOU do with this?

I decorated my living room in flowers )
I did two sessions of summer classes at uni last summer, so I was on campus. They put a lot of money into landscaping for there only being 10% of the people around! I got a lot of daffodils this spring, but a lot of the spring flowers are hard to dry, since they hold so much moisture. I tried to do an iris but it just got nasty. Does anyone have any advice for drying flowers? The reason these are all upside down is because I don't have a lot of silica gel or sand (or patience) to dry them, so I hang them upside down in hopes that the heads won't bow down that way, and any color will seep to the bottom.

...and we thought we'd put them into a, uh, necklace for her.

Can you go wrong with a black flocked heart?

The goal is for it to be a little too much, a little over-the-top, but not so much she'll know right away. We're wondering if we can get her to wear it at least once before we admit it's just a joke and we mean for her to take it apart and use the beads. So, I ask you - is your reaction one of befuddled 'am I supposed to like this?' or have I not gone far enough, or is your reaction 'that is hideous' and I've gone too far? Please note she's a belly dancer so she does like large, flashy jewelry, to a point. I have very little ability to judge because I'm a very dainty jewelry person, so this is uncharted territory for me!

I do think that, even though it's supposed to be temporary, I need to further secure the large ball to the necklace part, but I was wondering if it needs anything else? Or anything removed...

Thank you!
