I've been making shadow boxes out of the plain boxes sold at Michaels but I was getting tired of the same thing so I switched things up for a new look.

My fiance and I have come up with a theme for our wedding - Mad Hatter Garden Tea Party! Sounds awesome, and I really want it to be, but we are on a very, very tight budget (and have pretty large families that unfortunately all have to be invited). Any ideas on how to make the day gloriously bizarrely amazing without breaking us? I'm pretty crafty but not particularly artistic, he's an electrician, and we have friends and family with other various skill sets. Thanks in advance for any help you can give! This community comes up with some of the most amazing things I've ever seen!

I recently made this small quilt. I was walking through Hobby Lobby to waste some time and I stumbled upon a fat quarter pack of this fabric and absolutely fell in love with it. There was only one FQ pack :( so this ended up being only 36.5" x 44.5"

BUT!! I went back today and they have TWO fat quarter packs of this fabric PLUS another fat quarter pack with all different fabric from the same collection. WOO HOO! This is a good size for a lap blanket, something to throw on the back of the couch, or a baby/child, but it's not Caitlin sized!!

The binding didn't work out so well for me and I had to resort to cutting and sewing together the edges, so it doesn't look nice and fluid (picture under the cut). But the rest of it is really well sewn, I feel. I took extra time basting it so there aren't any wrinkles in the fabric, which is more than I can say for the quilt I recently made my dad.
