I made this as a gift for my fiance's boss. She's had a really rough year and a half (lost her father, has a nephew who needs an emergency transplant or else he faces possibly death).

She possesses the most beautiful straw-colored hair, so I wanted to make something for her that was elegant, yet playful; trendy, but conservative; and would go with her hair no matter what it's worn with.

Plus one more... )

Thank you, and happy crafting! <3

Just a little horse I made for my son. It's made out of fleece and yarn and stands about 6" (15cm) tall.

Hi everyone!

I just made a new tutorial-ish video showing start to finish how I make some of my basic rings. It's a bit more in depth than my last tutorial video for the coin rings, and I really tried to show my exact techniques for certain things (like, apparently I have a weird personal style of soldering that you don't see a lot). I was trying to make it fun to watch both for people who have no idea of the process behind silversmithing, but also for people who already know all this stuff but might be interested just to compare techniques.

Anyway, even though I edited out the boring polishing/finishing work, the total video length was a little over YouTube's time limit of 10 mins, so I had to split it into two parts. So here's the cheat sheet:

part one: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ICqkZ_n9WJ0
part two: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bVHBtgIqucQ

As a bonus feature, I am rambling inanely throughout the video for your amusement, -and- my face is clearly visible for a bit there, so if you watch the video it will be -almost- like we've met. Haha.

Don't know if this falls into the general category of crafting...but it was drawn, hand-painted, and took about a week and I love it so I think that counts and I'm posting it.. :)

This is the accent wall in my baby-to-be's room...
