Would any of you happen to have tips for hand stitching on leather?


I'm sewing a couple polaroids onto this bag:




And it's proving to be rather painful. The eye end of the needle keeps digging into my finger everytime I try to push it through the leather.

Are there any tricks to this I don't know about? Or do I just need to withstand the pain?
