sewing a lot lately

Hi, I have a huge bottle of selvage edges...and I decided to dip into it.  I made a cover for my sewing machine, I stiched the tree trunk and appliqued the leaves on the tree.  I sewed in some ribbon to the sides to hold it together. I love how it turned out!
Anyone on here save their selvage edges? I love them.

So I wake up this morning to inches & inches of SNOW. Unreasonable. I couldn't believe it. And, unfortunately, I have this rule about the first day of spring. It's that I don't wear a coat anymore. (Because that coaxes the cold weather to stay!)

I made a Zen garden out of an old shadow box last week. I made a rake out of a dowel and some tin. I couldn't find white sand and after busting my head it finally occurred to me to use salt. Zen gardens are very zen and addictive.

Hi Craftgirls&Boys :D
This is my first post in this community so I really hope, I'm doing everything right :) Usually, I'm just using my livejournal account just to roam communities about interesting&pretty things - like this one - and to stay in touch with friends! I'm happy to finally use it for something proper again :O

For my mum's birthday, I did my very first quilting project! After I saw so many beautiful Qulits here in the community and other places, I really wanted to try it myself, too. And my mum's birthday was the perfect reason to start :)

I stopped counting the hours I worked on it :O Here's the final Quilt:
