Crafty businesses

So I'm at the very early stages of creating a business out of my craftiness (Pagan ritual and formal wear, accessories, and other stuff), and I was wondering if any of you grrls who are already doing business with your crafts have any advice for me? Ideally I'd like to be able to support myself with this.

What do I *have* to know?
What pitfalls would it be helpful to avoid?
How hard is it to make a living from craft-work?

I think I saw a link to a small business LJ community ages back - was I dreaming?
