Kitchen Crafts
Nov. 5th, 2003 02:54 pmHey everybody, I was just wondering if you all could help me out with some ideas. I have a bunch of jars (salsa, cheese, applesauce, ect) that I like to store other products in (sugars, baking powders, ect). I was wondering if you all had some suggestions on how I could decorate the lids? I was thinking about just painting them, but I am not sure what kind of paint (and sealant) to use that won't chip off or wash off in the dishwasher. I have a country/chicken/rooster thing happening in my kitchen (nothing but class and tact with me!) and was hoping for cutesie ideas for decorating the lids and now maybe even the jars them selves.
Also, because I am a cheap butt... I buy my cutting boards at the dollar store. I really love the wood ones, but they split when they get overly wet. Is there a sealant that will not take away from the country wood look, won't effect food, and will keep the wood from splitting in water?
Thank you all for your help. :)
