beating a dead horse (re: marble magnets)

does anyone else end up w/ a bag of "bunk" marbles after making marble magnets (ie, wrong shape, too bubbly, cracked, warped, etc)??

someone suggested making "crackle" marbles by boiling the marbles in water and then plunging them into ice water.. i tried this but not many of my marbles "crackled" very well.. ( i guess my water wasn't cold enough/marbles weren't hot enough).. the ones that did crackle look really cool though..

anyways, i used them to mosaic a flower pot tonight (grout = fun)..
