In over my head...
Nov. 19th, 2003 03:39 pmWell, normally I don't pay much attention to the "Giving Trees" around town, because a lot of them ask for cd players or handheld games, or other things out of my price range.. But one caught my attention, and I grabbed it.. It's an 8 year old girl looking for "crafts, books and games"..
Here's the problem. I'd love to get her some crafty stuff, but when I look up 8 year ranged crafts (like in the memories/faq section), all I come up with are paper bag, egg carton and toilet-paper roll crafts. I'd really like to get her something more substantial, something that might keep her occupied for a while. But I'm at a total loss for what would work. I'm assuming knitting and crocheting are out of the question, but maybe some simple cross stitch projects?
Any suggestions for crafts, books or games would be greatly appreciated, as children that young are really a mystery to me. What is a kid that age really wanting with that kind of request? Thank you for your help!
Edit: Wow! This is amazing! Just a few minutes ago, I was completely lost, and now there are tons of ideas! You grrls (and guys) are fantastic! Thank you so much!
