What is a scrafhat?.....hahaha

Hey!
My mom bought my grandma a new jacket for the heck of it. My grandma lives in NY and we live in NC. Why am I telling you this all? I dunno.
Anyways, my mom wants me to make my grandma a hatscarf. Has anyone seen these? I never have. Anyways it is just like a hat, but with a scarf connected to it. I have no idea how to do it and I was wondering if anyone knew of a pattern or could tell me how to make it.

And I made a rectangle hat. I am not all the way finished with it...I still have to add something to the corners. I have not figured out anything yet.
I am thinking I can make little ones for my nephews and junk and add bells or something...who knows
Thank you to all the people who make rectangle hats as I have no idea how to crochet in a circle yet. FINALLY!!!! a hat I can make.
