craftgrrl | advice, look what i made, hi i'm new (Reply)

hi i'm new. so i wanted to ask for some advice and show off a couple of things.

- i have this sweater that's comfy and warm and i like to wear it a lot, but it's Boring. i was wondering if anyone has suggestions as to how i could embellish it. i'm not looking to cut it up, but if anyone can suggest patch ideas, creative glitter, applique, etc. any suggestions welcome. i'm kind of stuck.

and here's a couple of things i made recently that i'm proud of.

mini-scarf/choker of crushed velvet. i bought two yards of crushed velvet and was able to make a long skirt, armwarmers, and shirt out of it. this is just a scrap. i just like it because, though it's small, it still keeps me a little warm, like a scarf, it can be worn at multiple angles, and i fasten it with a safety pin through a purple heart shaped bead, which i think is cute. ^.^

a watch band made from the bottom hem a pair of corduroys i got at the local thrift store. i just sewed on the watch face, and used velcro for a fastener. it looks a little raw, but i like it. does anyone know if it's possible to just buy watch faces? this watch is comfortable and cute, and it'd be cool to make these with spare watch faces and scraps of fabric.
