repost: leg/arm warmers
Dec. 3rd, 2003 06:45 pmI posted this last night, but (tragically) used villiage photos to host the pics, so they didn't show. Hopefully this time it's working! Sorry for the repost...
carving up an old sweater...
So last night at midnight I gave myself a break from the drudge of reading and research by cutting up an old sweater-turtleneck and made legwarmers. The sweater was too small, and a turtleneck that's too small is just no good--it gives that awful shelf-boob/big gut effect that is anything but flattering. So, I just cut behind the seam of the sleeves, folded the shoulder flap down into the sleeve, sewed it down and strung a piece of shoelace-y yarn/ribbon I have to tie it to place. Now I can wear skirts again without showing off my sexy, hairy, pale legs.
legwarmers

I also made a headband/earwarmers from the turtleneck-neck part, but didn't take a picture. Sophie thinks it makes me look like I should be leading everyone in jazzersize. Whatever.
So that was last night. Tonight: armwarmers!

I only got the right one finished tonight, but there's plenty of time left to procrastinate with finals coming up and all. I didn't have a pattern for this one, just kind of improvised. You like?
